How to Respond to a ‘Not Receiving Temperature’ Notification
Some Pelican thermostats use a remote temperature sensor as their primary temperature sensor, instead of its internal sensor. A ‘Not Receiving Temperature’ notification indicates that your thermostat is unable to get a temperature reading from its remote device with a temperature sensor.
If a master thermostat is installed in the back office, but controls a remote temperature sensor at the front desk and the master thermostat is not receiving the remote devices internal temperature sensor.
The type of remote sensor your Pelican thermostat has connected to it is important, because if it is either a wired or wireless remote device with a temperature sensor, there are different methods of addressing this issue.
- If the remote device is battery-powered, check to see if the sensor’s screen is blank, it has no power and you need to check that the batteries are properly installed or replace them with two (2) new AA batteries. Pelican recommends Alkaline batteries which last at least one (1) year.
Note: If a battery-operated device runs out of battery, it will show up as unreachable (red) on the Network Map four (4) hours after it ran out of battery.
- If the remote device is wired, then please contact your HVAC technician to verify proper wiring and 24VAC power is reaching the wired remote device.
